Dismissed for Being Dispy

A hyper-dispensationalist was dismissed from his position as director of student ministries at Northwestern College. While I am a dispensationalist, hyper-dispensationalism is not look upon too well by those in my circles (progressive or  classical dispensationalists). In fact, some would regard it as serious heresy.

Hyper-dispensationalism is all over the board and is by no means monolithic. Essentially, I guess you could say that hyper-dispensationalists are united in their belief that the Church started with Paul, not at Pentecost (although there is disagreement as to when), that much of the New Testament does not apply to the Church, but to Israel, and most, if not all, would not practice the ordinance of baptism, believing that it is not for the church (some would place the Lord’s supper in the same category).

Wow. I am Dispensational as well. But that is pretty hyper and heretical.

Dispensationalism is nutty. Covenant theology is the best approach to the scriptures and partial preterism is the best view of eschatology. Yes, I one of them reformed folk.
