Here is an interesting article at USA Today (HT: Sarah). It would seem that the question is quite loaded. Being such, it could be asked in a variety of ways:
Who speaks for Evangelicals?
Who speaks for evangelicals? (get the lower case - now it is an adjective, not a noun)
Who speaks for evangelical theology?
Who speaks for evangelical politics?
Here are my top ten picks just to have fun:
1. Billy Graham (the “Protestant Pope”)
2. Chuck Swindoll (the Golden Mouth)
3. John Piper (the Passion Filler)
4. Me (the all around good guy)
5. Franklin Graham (the “Protestant Pope’s” heir)
6. Mark Driscoll (the Pizzaz)
7. Mark Noll (the Evangelical Historian)
8. Eugene Peterson (the MESSAGEr)
9. Dan Wallace (the eXegete)
10. Bono (the Reformer)
What is your list?
